Sysco Mission Statement Analysis Paper

I chose Sysco Corporation from missionstatements.com because I see their trucks all over the city every day. I know they are consistently relied on by thousands of restaurants, cafeterias, hospitals and senior centres as well as hotels and other locations that provide food daily in Toronto. As someone who has worked in restaurants and healthcare facilities, I have seen their logo often and I have used many of their products. They provide food and restaurant supplies.

My first issue arose when my search engine kept redirecting me to Sysco.ca which is the same company but seems to have a different mission statement. The American and Canadian websites look almost identical but the About Us section on the Canadian website is smaller and the mission statement is different. There is nothing to explain why, and it seems that they are acting as the same company. The first mission statement is: “To market and deliver great products to our customers with exceptional service”. This is a very broad statement but it allows Sysco to encompass a lot of different products and services and still maintain their

I think they should clarify why they have different missions or harmonize them completely. The vision and values of Sysco are stated clearly on the American site and I think they should be included on the Canadian site as well. Both mission statements focus on excellent customer service and it does seem this is Sysco’s priority. The US site seemed to have an overabundance of information and the Canadian site seemed ignored. Sysco is a huge company in Canada and I had difficulty accessing the American site. For their many customers in Canada to feel valued, they need to back up their mission statement by addressing the holes in their website. It seems Sysco has a clear vision of going above and beyond for their customers and I got that sense from both mission
