Massive amounts of Syrians are escaping out of Syria due to an atrocious the civil war that all started when 15 schoolchildren were arrested and tortured for writing anti-government graffiti on a wall. Conflict and protest rose asking for the children to be freed and more freedom, but the government didn't respond to well and the army turned on protesters. This caused the protesters to get even more infuriated with the government and they started to try and get president Bashar al-Assad to resign. Some have walked extensive distances, while others are traveling in overcrowded boats which have the risk of sinking, which causes most of the people, especially kids, to drown helplessly. Some people are also being tortured after being caught for trying to escape. Many other Syrians are suffering from causes like starvation due to small amounts of food, weather, or illnesses and diseases in refugee camps and others are dying from chemical weapons, torture, and mass execution.
