Their government cracked down on the protesters which led them to fight back. The citizens had grown weary from being oppressed from their human rights and revolted, thereby causing a civil war. After much bloodshed, many started to look outside of their borders for hope. Roughly four million refugees fled to neighboring countries in the end of 2011 (Tomkiw). Many refugees had a long journey ahead of them fleeing to other countries and often were denied access. Some countries were concerned that the refugees would want to take advantage of their economic stability and displace citizens from their jobs. However, the majority of refugees were not searching for economic gain, but for an escape from their living nightmare. They fled from Syria, Eritrea, and Afghanistan (Tomkiw). The large number of refugees flooding into different locations have overwhelmed nations like Turkey. Different countries have set up camps for the refugees, but many have become overpopulated at an alarming rate (Tomkiw). Due to overcrowded camps the vast majority of migrants are forced to continue to look for a safe haven
