Synthetic diamonds are way cheaper than real diamonds. In the article, Diamond’s Cheaper Identical Twin by Emily Co it states,” Gemesis lab-created diamonds retail for approximately 20 to 30 percent less than mined diamonds.” Synthetic diamonds cost less than mined diamonds. Which means, you can get a synthetic diamond cheaper. Lab-created diamonds are a close replica of mined diamonds. Not only that, you don’t have to pay the price of a mined diamond. According to the article Why Aren’t Synthetic Diamonds Cheaper ? it states, “Synthetics dominate the industrial market because its easy to make little ones.” As, Neil Beaty from Professional Appraisals in Denver said its easy for synthetics to come in small sizes. Because, the synthetics are small its convenient for them to be made into a tiny carat Synthetics have less flaws than mined diamonds because these diamonds are grown under conditions that are controlled. You can’t really tell the difference between a synthetic and a real diamond. Synthetic diamonds take less time to be formed. There is no need for workers to face harsh conditions. Its difficult and dangerous for workers to mine diamonds. Even, with the help of machines, diamonds are the hardest minerals. As I read the body rituals that Miner describes such as “inserting a small bundle of hog hairs into the mouth and moving that bundle around in the mouth, also visiting a holy-mouth man once or twice a year who uses a variety of tools to locate any tooth decay, references men scraping and lacerating the surface of the face with a sharp instrument” it was easy to identify these to our routines of brushing our teeth, going to the dentist and a man shaving his face. I believe Miner is referring to Americans and how Americans are concerned over their body image. I don’t think there is a substantial difference between the American’s 50 years ago vs. the American’s today. We still have these same routines, we still care about what we look like…

Among all the tested diamond films, friction tests suggest that the boron doped diamond films exhibit the lowest friction coefficient and wear rate, because of its diamond grain refinement effect. A lower friction coefficient is found in boron-doped diamond films than that of undoped ones. No variation of the total volume wear rate as a function of time was evidenced during the test since the vertical movement was negligible, a few micrometers at the end of the test. At this point, the final wear rate of the ball is indeed about 5x10-17 m3 (N/m). The wear of the diamond coated disc is too low to be measured and the wear track is just polished, as detected by SEM and confirmed by the AFM measurements.…
