We are well into the technological age, where every family has a computer, and all of the knowledge in the world seems like it is just a keystroke or a tap away. Schools have begun to jump aboard the technological wave by incorporating technology into the classrooms and daily curriculum, even going so far as to provide every student with their own personal laptop or tablet. But do the benefits of technology outweigh the possible negative effects? This is something that requires careful consideration and debate by school board officials. Success can be measured in many ways but one of the most common is how well you are able to think on your own and how you use those ideas that you came up with to benefit yourself and other around you. But if children are not able to think for themselves they begin to damage how successful they might become in their lives. This problem can lead to children dividing themselves from society. The cartoon in Source F shows a person sitting in a dark room alone playing on some sort of technology, yet there is a window leading to the outside world and bringing light to the darkness but the person decides to exclude himself from the real world. Which provides an excellence example of how some children would separate themselves from the world going on around them. The children are excluding themselves from experiencing life because of their technology, and without certain life experiences such as; learning for mistakes, social interactment, independence, and more, children are setting themselves up for failure in their
