Please describe how you synthesized your knowledge throughout the workshop and incorporated it into your group’s PLW. For example, what were your big takeaways from the workshop, and how did you use this knowledge to teach your classmates? The biggest take-away from the workshop that we were able to use and apply to our PLW dealt with creating an effective activity and demonstration. From our various presentations as well as our experiences with activities in the class, we tried to design activities that were both fun and important. One of the biggest elements we hoped to incorporate into our PLW was discussion. Our activity is designed to have students discuss with each other as well as discuss with us. While this serves as a judge of how much the students may or may not know about our topic, it, more importantly, pushes the students to think more critically about their own biases as well as push them to engage with unfamiliar material.
