Thesis: In order to foster a trustworthy and friendly environment in high schools, the honor code in (my) school(s) should be revised in order to provide a better learning environment for students.
1st Main Point: Although honor codes are an efficient method to preventing cheating, it should not be so strict to the point which it creates a more hostile rather than friendly environment.
In an honor system which students are forced to report each other or face a penalty themselves, students “feared that a mandate to confront peers would create friction and that a subsequent report could not be easily kept confidential” (Source B).
