The thesis is to point out the discrimination that people have faced at their work places. The main point of the article is employment discrimination, it focuses on cases that the U.S. has worked on and points out the discrimination in each of them. “The number of these decisions again raises the question of why there continues to be so many appeals in this area in the face of well-established precedent” (2). The main point is rape is something to be taken seriously, she states “We live in a culture that is very permissive where rape is concerned” (453). She gives an example of an eleven-year old girl that was raped by eighteen men who say that it was the girl’s fault because she dressed older than her age which gave them a hint that she was asking for it. The conclusion is that the way rape is presented allows people to ignore the reality of it, that the victims suffer from PTSD, anxiety, and facing people. The main point is to show readers that even though “discrimination on grounds of sex, race, religion, or age is illegal” (1). He is saying that even though discrimination is illegal there are ways to get around it like hiring people for jobs and something as simple as ordering food. The employee could be very rude towards a person just because that person is of a different color or simply because that person is a woman. The evidence that the author provides is he gives an example that if there was a job that required tall candidates then the ones who would most likely be picked for that job would be men because the average man is taller than the average woman. The conclusion he comes to is that there will be further problems justifying a
