Synthesis Essay On Bullying

Many people say that if they see someone being bullied or hurt, they would stand up for the vistime. But how many of those people have actually done that? Nobody knows but what we do know is that there are many issues in society and one of them is bullying. This image is trying to show that many people get bullied verbally and that people need to become more aware of this and they should try and help these individuals through their bullying.
This ad uses a lot of letters and words to portray the effects of bullying. One of the things that pops out and catches the attention of the reader, is the capitalized red letters on the girl's’ hands. Another eye catching detail, are the words written on the girls bellies and legs that symbolize the verbal abuse that is said to them on a daily basis. While the black letter symbolize what is being said to them, the red letters tell us how to avoid bullying them and how to help them.
These words have adverse effects on these girls. Girls go through a lot of verbal abuse whether it is daily or once in awhile. Many people have heard the quote, “Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me,” which in fact is not the truth at all. The girls in the image are black and white, which shows that they are like any other person. But if a reader looks at the picture, they see words written in black on the girls. This symbolizes how the words are out for everyone to see and that it isn’t something they can hide easily.
