“Wow, time has passed and things have changed.” There are many instances in life where we would realize this and wonder how much we have grown as humans. Unfortunately, life is not a stopwatch where we could press the go button and press stop whenever we want to. It doesn’t work that way. Time doesn’t stop and everyone is living their lives as we try to progress forward. However, that doesn’t stop us from looking back, because that is what photographs are for. It captures the moments in life that reflect the type of person we were back then. The feelings that well up inside of us when we look at these photographs indicate how much life have changed as we lived. We’re able to look at the true nature of ourselves that we once were on a white surface, whether colored or not. Whether it was a painful memory or one filled with happiness, without these captured moments in life, we wouldn’t be the person we are today. These photographed pictures are a part of who we are and who we once were. We should be able to appreciate pictures and cherish them wholeheartedly. What stops us from enjoying the little things in life is our constant worries in our daily lives. These troubles and thoughts tend to pile up and eventually it will consume your thoughts and how you perceive things. “Too much self concern blocks direct experience of things outside yourself” (Source F).
