The beauty of syntax and diction is a huge factor to why English is my most treasured subject. Having the ability to structure articulate pieces of writing is an essential. I love being able to evoke emotion through the precise use of words. Also, essays are involved in almost every course, so loving the most commonly execrated part of school gives me an advantage. Vocabulary says a lot about a person, and all of the endless flash cards i have made for english tests have contributed towards my overall knowledge. Sophomore year we read The Catcher in The Rye by J.D. Salinger, through symbolism and a relatable main character Salinger has touched the hearts of every Holden Caulfield out there. Every kid that is afraid to grow up and despised by the phony people that come with it. I connected extremely intensely to this book, and that is why i love English and everything about it.
