It was the end of first period on the sunny Friday morning. George Goodwin had just left his algebra class in Carey Hall and was making his way to his biology class in the science building. Directly across from him on the quad was Kelly Jansen. Their paths were destined to cross.
For the time he knew Kelly Jansen, she was the love of his life. She tended to do that to people. Her flawlessness made her seem like a myth, like it was not possible for her to exist. Everything about her, her characteristics, her features, were a step above the average girl’s. Her lips were as plump as can be, but were often stretched down by her infectious and radiant smile. Her silky blonde hair flowed from her

Yes, Kelly was out of every single boy’s league, but this was the case more for some than others. For George Goodwin, Kelly was Michael Jordan and his league was the local recreational field hockey league. First of all, Kelly was a senior in high school and George was only a freshman. This incident now put to the test the question of if they could at least be friends. Would she acknowledge him? Smile when she passes by? Would she actually say hi? George had no idea what to expect but he knew he was going to get the answer sooner than later. After his eye first caught Kelly on the quad, George’s heart started to beat faster than usual. Due to them still being far away from one another, George had to find other things to look at so that when Kelly happened to see George down the path, he would not already be focusing on her. He decided to start looking at the sport fields as if there was a game going on. There was no game going on, however, as it was nine o’clock in the morning. His distraction still would
