Synapsis formation between neurons is known as synaptogenesis. It is a complex process that starts from the embryo to postnatal and adult life and participates in learning, cognition and memory [180]. Neurotransmitters, released from the pre-synaptic neuron, activate the receptors present on post-synaptic neuron through electrochemical signaling mechanisms. Various molecules such as receptors, factors and signaling and surface adhesion are involved in the process of synapse formation [181]. Major contributing molecules are NRXs (neurexins), TSP (thrombospondin) and NLGs (neuroligins) [182; 183]. The defects in synaptic formation are considered as the major reason in the pathogenesis of brain diseases and cognitive decline [184; 185]. Studies
