This infection can only be treated by very powerful antibiotics, but it is resistant to some antibiotics. One out of 20 people will get this infection, most will get it from the hospital, but some can get it even before they reach the hospital grounds.
There are four different types of the MRSA infection. The first one is the skin infection or also known as Necrotizing Fasciitis, commonly called the flesh eating infection. People who have Endocarditis will have inflammation of the inner walls of the heart mainly in the heart valves. This can also infect artificial heart valves, pacemakers, or implantable defibrillators. Endocarditis infection is most commonly found in people with preexisting heart diseases. To get this infection the bacteria will enter the bloodstream and attach to damaged places of the inner parts of the heart, but not all the bacteria entering the bloodstream will cause this infection. If this is untreated or not treated in time the patient will most likely die. Endocarditis will damaged the heart valves to where the heart will start leaking and will not be able to push the blood throughout the body. There is a few ways to prevent it; to do it on your own you should have good oral hygiene. The reasoning behind calling MRSA (Methicillin-Resistant Staphylococcus Aureus) a “superbug” is that it is resistant to most antibiotics. Since early childhood, we have been given antibiotics for maladies that don’t even warrant the use of them like colds or flu. The more antibiotics we take, the more likely the bacteria will mutate to a strain that is resistant. Just like with evolution, our bodies are always changing. Remember our appendix?…
