Persuasive Speech On Cancer Research Paper

I believe that it is a shame that in 2008, 12.7 million people were diagnosed with cancer and an additional 7.6 million people die from this tragic disease. The World Health Organization states that in the year of 2030, this statistic will grow to 21.4 and 13.2 million respectively (Fanghua, 2010, p.297). But, what is cancer. Cancer is a disease caused by non-stop division of cells and it can happen almost anywhere in the human body. People who are stricken with this disease are people who are loved and will be missed when they inevitably die. They are willing to endure the pain and suffering for the smallest chance of more time on Earth with their loved ones. This disease can happen to your loved ones or even yourself. The typical treatments they find hope in are chemotherapy and radiotherapy. Patients endure chemical being pumped into their body or as doctors prefer to call it chemo therapy. You can visit change.org and sign the petition associated with using cannabis as a cancer treatment. Then, write a letter to Bobby Scott. As, our congressman, he can bring this to the attention of the federal government. With this attention, more people will be compelled to sign the petition and write a letter. Lastly, we all need to send a letter to the FDC citing the research that has been published. We need to demand answers to why this researcher is not acknowledged by them. We need to demand that they explain why this research is not valid, and we need to demand that they conduct their own research, since it is the tax payers more that funds them. By doing this you are doing your part to allow cancer patients access to every possible treatment. This will allow the patients to have the best chance for winning their fight with cancer and being able to spend more time with the people who love
