Cause And Effect Essay On Skin Cancer

Elderly people recently seem to have been caused by the horrible disease of cancer. Cancer affects not only the person that has cancer, but the family members as well. Once someone hears the news that their family member has cancer they worry instantly. They worry because they love that family member and do not want to lose them, but many people also worry that the cancer is genetic. In recent research, it has shown that cancer is mostly not genetic. There is a small percentage that cancer is genetic. “Approximately 60% of all cancers result in the older population” (Cope 1). This means that older people need to be more cautious. They need to see doctors as often as possible to make sure nothing in their body has changed and everything is still the same.
Cancer can be caused by a large factor of things. One factor of cancer is sun exposure and radiation exposure. Many people do not take skin cancer seriously. Tanning beds are horrible. They can cause skin cancer as well as not wearing sunscreen when you are in the sun. I know many people want to be tan, but they do not realize the damage that they are doing to their bodies now and in the future. It may cause them to have cancer. Some foods that may cause cancer are microwave popcorn, canned goods, grilled red meat, refined sugar, soda, and white flour. This is a large range of different foods which may be the reason so many people have cancer. I know that I even have some bad foods that may cause cancer. We really have to be careful with what we are putting into our bodies because if we do not do it now there could be a very bad result for us in the future.
