in the hospital we went to the front desk of the woman 's center at banner desert hospital and they put me into a room to check if my water broke. at first the nurse who was condescending and said it probably didn 't but she said they would still check the fluid.as the nurse left the room my mother followed her, my god mother and i looked at each other and i know we were both thinking the same thing.when the nurse came back in my mother had a slight smirk that i knew to well. the nurse looked as if she had a near death experience with a mother bear protecting her cub. the nurses attitude made a complete 360 and she said okay so your water did brake and congratulations. in the the back of my mind i was thinking ell duh lady i may be younger than mos mothers but i 'm not going to waste everyone 's time if i wasn 't at least 99.9 percent …show more content…
the room had a wooden rocking chair which looked like it been used time and time again, a wardrobe that had pillows blankets and deflated balls. the air inside the room had a strong smell of what i 'm assuming was disinfectant. they told me i wasn 't able to drink or eat anything not that i minded much i was a little nauseous. the nurses did warn me about that but i didn 't believe i could get nauseous. all i wanted was a big pitcher of water to drink but all i was allowed was ice chips that came in a little stryofoam cup. after six or seven hours into my labor my contraction pain was excruciating, i had planned for a natural birth like my grandmother had done for all of her six children, but i knew that wasn 't going to happen. i asked them for the painkiller they said they could give me thru my i.v within two minuets i felt relief. i fell into a deep sleep which i dreamed mainly of water and a cheeseburger from Denny 's. i woke up to the unbearable pain, i began shaking. i told my mom it hurts, she didn 't know how it felt she had high risks deliveries and the doctors had to keep her medicated the whole time, so there wasn 't much so could do to help me but tell me it was going to be okay. the nurse whose name was Kathrine said i was only seven centimeters dilated. i asked my mom if he could as about an epidural I 've had one for a previous surgery so i knew it could help with the pains that were
