Bipolar disorder is a brain disorder that could almost destroy a person’s ability to function. They could result in poor job or school performance, poor relationship, or even suicide. But this bipolar disorder is treatable and people with this illness could live full and productive lives. Bipolar disorder usually occurs in late adolescence or early adulthood. Bipolar disorder is a long term illness that must be treated carefully. One common symptom of bipolar disorder is that it causes dramatic mood swings. It takes from overly high mood to sad and hopeless and back again. This mood swing affects severely in our energy and behavior throughout the day. High mood is called a manic episode that is characterized by extreme happiness, little to no sleep for activities and racing thoughts. Manic episodes often lead to family conflict or financial problems due to aggressive and impulsive mood.
