Listening Assignment 8. Going into Berlioz’s Symphonie fantastique, 4th movement, March to the Scaffold the composer takes the audience into his deep dreams and illustrates with his music on every exact emotion and thought we contained. This specific piece contains a big orchestra and with that each individual instrument takes a step into depicting the exact thoughts of the writer. Looking more into the piece the 4th movement specifically has followed the other 3 before it on his thought towards his partner, however with this movement the writer now has taken a darker light on things and turn the piece more disturbing. I guess because as humans we reach peaks within ourselves, it’s hard to truly always be sure of the emotions that always carry in oneself thought life. However, going thought tunes that I felt have always been with me regardless of changes in my life I found a couple that might reflect who I am very well. Those are Camisado by Panic at the Disco, and I’m Not Okay by My Chemical Romance. I went with these two unusual picks on the fact that although I am still learning about myself, and continue to pass thought these trial and error periods within myself I can always rely on a more innocent time in life where all I cared for was acceptance for my sexuality and for my curiosity on experience. These songs are home to when I was still very innocent to the world and carried a long a lot of hope on how great I would become. There isn’t much I would change about the songs I have choice only for the reason that they might have wrote it better than I would of ever descried it myself. If having someone hear these songs I would like them to truly understand the message of the entire piece, and of course to keep an open mind of what exact audience these two songs bring. They are the people who are learning and still enjoying a younger time of themselves, regardless
