Symbols of Freedom The idea of freedom is seen in Collection 2 of our textbook. Freedom can be seen in the whole speech “I Have A Dream” by Martin Luther King Jr. given August 28, 1963. Another article that represents freedom is “Nobody Turn Me Around: A People’s History of the 1963 March on Washington” by Charles Euchner. Lastly, the diary “Cairo: My City, Our Revolution” by Ahdaf Soueif. The topic of freedom can be seen throughout Dr. King’s speech. The part of the speech that shows freedom is when King states “there will be neither rest nor tranquility in America until the Negro is granted his citizenship rights.” This is important because no one should be discriminated over their race.
