My first symbol is the books. Maddy has spent all of her life locked in her house and in that time she read a lot. Choosing the books as a symbol shows what Maddy does with her time in the house. Then having my second symbol as the ocean shows where she wants to go. I chose the ocean because throughout the book and her time she spent talking with Olly she always talked about seeing the ocean and traveling.
The picture of the book shelve shows my first symbol. The first picture of the ocean shows my second symbol.
My first theme is love. I chose the theme love because of Maddy and Olly. In the trailer, it shows that Maddy loves/likes Maddy when she wants to see the world with Olly. Also, when Olly finally gets to see Maddy in person. Another

Also the pictures of the girl and her mom and the picture of the girl and her nurse.
My conflict is that Maddy can not go outside but she wants to. I show the conflicts with the pictures. The picture of the hand on the window shows my conflict.
I showed my mood through my music. When something more exciting happened it was a louder. When something sadder happened it began to get quiet. My moods were sad and happy. The sad mood was in the beginning. The music, in the beginning, was not really sad because Maddy loved being with her mom and nurse every day. She just wished she could go outside. But, it got happier toward the middle when the music changes and gets a little louder. The mood gets sad again toward the end when the question is asked. I chose the images I chose because when reading the book that is what I pictured. All of my pictures represent something in the book. Like, the picture in the bedroom has a book shelf, because Maddy read all the time. The picture of the nurse and the girl show them what looks like in a home, and Maddie's nurse would be with her all day at her home. I got my pictures off of google images

Symbolism in To Kill a Mocking Bird Whether it be in literature or even shown in pictures, people use things to represent something with a deeper meaning and that’s called symbolism.
