We, as human beings, tend to describe ourselves in extravagant and unnecessary ways, which is why it is important to remember our key values and what makes us, us. Although many objects can represent someone , choosing only three that truly represent one as a whole is a challenging decision. The three objects that I feel represent me best are a basketball, which represents my love for the sport; a stethoscope, which symbolizes my dream of being a neurosurgeon; and a book, which represents my love for all types of literature. Many people believe that neurosurgeons are similar to normal surgeons, except they just “cut” brains, however a neurosurgeon’s work is extremely difficult and much different than a normal surgeon’s. Neurosurgeons need to have a vast knowledge about not only the brain, but the rest of the body as well, since the brain controls the entire body. Neurosurgeons must be very precise with their incisions, lest they make a mistake and cause damage in the brain or body, which is very stressful. The reason I want to be a neurosurgeon is because the brain and anatomy in general is very interesting to me, and finding the cure to problems and diseases in the body is very fascinating. In addition to these reasons, me being a neurosurgeon will give me opportunities to save lives and make people hopeful and joyful. Although my future job is to be a neurosurgeon, it would take many years and much hard work to achieve this goal, due to the vast knowledge a neurosurgeon must have. Despite seeming like fourteen years of school for nothing but a job, these many years of school will teach me to have perseverance and will allow me to reach my goal of being a
