In the book To Kill A Mockingbird has many different types of symbolism with how you should treat people. Also how how people might look different but they aren’t any different than anyone else out there. One of the first times it is talk about is when Jem and Scout get there BB guns. Atticus tells then that they aren’t aloud to kill a mockingbird but they can kill all the bluejays they want. They are told that because the mockingbird is peaceful compared to the bluejays. The second point that things changed in the book is after Tom’s trial and Scout didn’t want Jem to kill the bug. The reason why this is a big deal is at the beginning she want to shout all the birds for no reason, then after the trial and tom was shot and killed in jail she saw no real reason to kill something for no reason. When she beat him up and Jem had to break it up, and he kinda showed her that you have to to be nice to people. It also shown when he comes over for supper that night and he asked for the syrup and Scout when to make fun of him for putting the syrup all over the food on his plate. That is when the maid stepped in and told her that it is not nice to make fun of people that are different. The second way that it is shown that people show that you should be nice is when they go to the court and the priest takes them up to the balcony with him with the blacks. The final way is when Jems pants gets snagged on the fence and Boo Radley sews them up without them knowing it that night when they were sneaking around the Radley’s with there friend, it shows that you should always be nice even if you don’t know the person or even if you aren’t friends with them.
In conclusion the book show how they tried to teach them to be nice to people, it shows the reader that people should always be nice. The book talk about how people were racist at this time.
