The last movie I watched was the mighty girl. This was a very fluffy romantic comedy with a hint of darkness. The movie is about a girl named Kang So-hwi played by Shin Min-ah. Her parents were gifted in martial arts and she inherited their gift. However, she no longer wants to do martial arts due to the fact she gets called manly and unfeminine. She tries to change and become more feminine in order to get a guy who happens to be in the ice hockey team. Her dad, wanting her to go back to martial arts hatches a plan with his friend. His friend’s son, Il-yeong who is So-hwi’s childhood friend is also giving up on martial arts so her dad offers to buy him a motorbike if he can compete in a tournament with his daughter. He comes and hangs out with her in her school and follows her everywhere in order to convince her to join.
However even with his persistence she does not budge from her decision. When they are hanging out together she tells

In The Sassy Girl, he uses the tress and the necklace as symbol. Her throwing away the necklace symbolizes her intention to move on and the newly planted tree symbolized their new relationship that is free of old memories. There’s also symbolism in The Classic, rainbow is something the main character considers door to heaven due to her mom telling her about her past experience. Same with the necklace, the necklace Joo-hee gives Joon-ha is their first connection and it intertwines all the main characters in movie and connects the past to the future. Director Kwak Jae-Yong has the unique ability to make a simple story very complex and bring out little emotions that makes each stories different. He is able to bring what to live with moving pictures somethings that can’t be said or explained with words. He is also able to mix romance, comedy, melodrama, fantasy very seamless and has a very different stories to tell every time. All of these contents makes his movies very special and
