The Last Supper includes thirteen characters in the painting. Every character has his own expression and gesture according to his personality, and they are related to the moment which is the first indication of the betrayal before the identification of Judas as a single or a group (Heydenreich 47). This painting depicts how Jesus was betrayed by one of his disciple, while having the last supper with his disciples before his death. His disciples respond differently to this information. Jesus sits in the middle, and each side has six disciples, but Jesus is separated from them. Bartholomeus at the most left of the painting, stretched out his head and both of his hands press on the table, as if he wants to closer to Jesus or listen what other disciples talking about. His face is full of unbelievable. Jacobus Alphei stretches his left hand to the fourth one’s shoulder and lays on Bartholomeus, as if he lost his faith and he needs a thing to support his body. Andreas faces to Jesus with down mouth which shows his sadness. He open his hands like pushing something away. Bartholomeus, Jacobus Alphei and Andreas are a small group, and they are both face to Jesus. John sits on the right of the Jesus and he is listening what Peter talks to him. His eyes are looking down and his hands are crossed on the table which like he was tied. Peter is the one who stretches his body across the Judas Scariotes. He seems angry and he wants to know more detail, so he passes a person to ask John who is the nearest person sits with Jesus. His left hand touches John and his right hand holds a knife, as if he can have an answer who is the traitor from John, and he will kill him immediately. Judas sits between John and Peter, and he is the traitor. He seems shocked and he lays away from Jesus and his right hand holds his bag tightly. Matheus, Simon and Thaddeus are a group, they looks surprise and have no idea what is happening, so they are be a group to talk about it anxiously. Their hands stretch out to the Jesus. Philipps stands up and points to himself, as if he asks Jesus that is Jesus think he is the traitor. Thomas leaves his seat and stands behind the Jacobus Zebedaei. He extends a finger and seems to ask Jesus to make sure that just have one traitor with his curious face. Jacobus Zebedaei sits right beside Jesus, he stretch out his hands to stop Philipps and Thomas get closer to Jesus.
