The wine pitcher he is reaching for with the other can be viewed as the blood of Christ. In the Bible, the Gospel of Mark 8:28, Jesus is said to heal a blind man named Bartimaeus while passing through the town Jericho. It is also noted in both the Gospel of Luke and the Gospel of Matthew. Bartimaeus called out to Jesus among of crowd of people begging for mercy. Jesus then approached the man and asked him what he needed, Bartimaeus then asked Jesus that he be able to see again to which Jesus replied that his faith has cured him and restored his vision.
