In the Fountainhead, the quest for power consumes many characters. In fact, it seems to consume almost every character except Howard Roark, the very person in whom these characters wish to take the most power from. However, even if Roark continues in his own individualistic world, people like Ellsworth Toohey and Gail Wynand still manage to thrive on gaining and achieving an increasing amount of power. The forms of these powers are starkly different from each other and insurmountably contrasted from Roark’s goals and motivations to gain power. Ellsworth Toohey is a cunning and convincing man who is constantly charming people into his way of thinking.…

The film focuses on hypothetical situation in which Jews were able to inflict righteous payback on their oppressors through powerful schemes, threats, and crude violence. Adolf Hitler and other high-ranked members of the Nazi party were gathered at the premiere of a propaganda film in the city of Paris. They were oblivious to the fact that two separate groups were attempting to commit mass murders to end the war. The scarcity if egotism in collectivists is seen in The Fountainhead by second-handers, such as Peter Keating. A second-hander is someone who does not have original thoughts or ideas. Keating often comes to Roark for critique on his architecture sketches. Roark then redoes the entire sketch for him, incorporating his stylistic aesthetics, and Keating takes credit for it by submitting it as his own.…

I just read the book, "Fountainhead," by Ayn Rand. The book was about capitalism, selfishness, egotism, and individualism a topic of interest in a moving forward socialistic society. The hero of The Fountainhead, Howard Roark (an architect), is selfish and egotistical in that he doesn’t compromise on being true to himself, doesn’t imitate and doesn’t look to others to approve of what he does. He bases his behavior entirely on what he considers to be in his own best interests.…

Intelligent Architecture In her book The Fountainhead, Ayn Rand portrays the protagonist, Howard Roark, as an individualistic young architect who chooses to struggle in unimportance rather than compromise his artistic and personal vision. The book follows his fight to practice what the public sees as modern architecture, which he considers to be superior, despite an establishment focused on tradition-worship. In the book Architecture's New Media: Principles, Theories, and Methods of Computer-Aided Design, the authors Yehuda E. Kalay and William J. Mitchell talk about Computer-aided architectural design (CAAD) and its ability to model and manipulate objects, beyond just graphical representation.…
