A devout Monk, Silas, of Opus Dei (a secret Catholic Society) is sent by an unknown Teacher to find the hidden location of the famous Holy Grail in Paris. After confirming the location with 3 members of the Priory of Sion (keepers of the Holy Grail), Silas shoots Jacques Sauniere, the master of the secret society. Unbeknownst to him, all the members, including Sauniere, had given him a false location. Not wanting the secret to die with him, Jacques creates an intricate path of clues for his granddaughter Sophie and master of symbolism, Robert Langdon to find. Sophie was raised by her grandfather after her family died in a car accident. He trained her in deciphering codes, and loved her very much. When she was only a teen, the two had a falling out, resulting in Sophie not speaking with Jacques until that day, just before he died.
Soon Robert realizes that he and Sophie are suspects for the murder, being the last people Sauniere was in contact with, and act fast to crack the code that had been left for them. Before running from the authorities, they find a key, marked with the seal of the Priory of Sion. …show more content…
