I believe “metaphor” is an appropriate literary term for the quote I have chosen because Mr.Antolini doesn’t exactly mean that Holden is going to fall. I believe he means that Holden’s mindset doesn’t allow him to know what’s right from wrong.
A possible reason the author chose to use a metaphor is that perhaps J.D. wanted us to really think about what he actually meant.

I believe “imagery” is an appropriate literary term for the quote I have chosen because Holden is describing what he sees and feels when he visits his dead brother.
A possible reason the author chose to use “imagery” is because he wanted to show us how much Holden dislikes visiting his brother. It’s not that he doesn’t love him; he just doesn’t like seeing his brother there.
This quote reflects the overall theme because it shows how Holden feels about his brother Allies death. Perhaps that’s why Holden acts the way he does.
If I were Holden at this point I would honestly feel the same way. It takes a little bit of rain for people to go away and go on with their lives. I think the author is trying to say how messed up Holden is because of Allie’s death. It was so easy for all the visitors to move on but it wasn’t easy for
