One big symbol that Orwell used in the book was the farmhouse. Having the farmhouse was a symbol about who had the power or was in charge of the farm because when Mr. Jones was still living on the farm he lived in the farmhouse and by living in the farmhouse he had all the power over the farm. So after the rebellion, the pigs gradually became the leaders of the farm and started to relocate themselves in the farmhouse. The farmhouse showed who had the power of the farm. The windmill is also a huge symbol that is used in the book because it shows the huge amount of power that they pigs had over the other animals and it showed the ability to manipulate the other animals on the farm. Another thing that Orwell uses the windmill as a symbol is that whoever was in charge of the windmill was also in a way in charge of the whole farm. The windmill is also used as a symbol of power because when the windmill is being build is shows that the pigs had the overall power because they had made all the other animals do all the hard work while they just stood there and directed them on what to do.
