On most Occasions, an object can be more clearly explained to the reader if the writer Uses symbolism to represent it. Flags, Banners, or Pictures can also be described as
Symbolism. For example Math is known as Symbols because 100-50=50, the symbol =
Represents the answer for the equation, and the – symbol is used for Subtracting.

In the Story, Phoenix an old Women that is from Natchez, Mississippi, Goes through
Trouble going into the woods, to go all the way to town to get some medication for her
Grandson that is ill from swallowing Lye. She has to pass by a White hunter who would hunt for bob whites, he would also be Racist because he had a Gun with him and he pointed it at her, then all of a sudden Phoenix sees a something silver falling from his pocket, and it

A Manifold of Symbolic connotation can be made in “A Worn Path” by
Eudora Welty.
“Jackson who makes a strenuous journey into town in need of medicine for her grandson.” She was Worried about her grandson, so she goes all the way to town.
“Jackson tries to ask a white man for help but doesn’t receive a good response.” The hunter is like a Racist person because he points the gun to Phoenix.
“Phoenix tries to ask a nurse for help, but she doesn’t receive good response.” The Nurse is the one who needs to give phoenix the medicine.
“Her grandson swallowed Lye.” Phoenix grandson represents motivation to phone, knowing that he is Ill.
“The Nickel, shiny coin of minimal value, serves as a constant reminder of her poverty and miserable standing.” The Nickel represents a lot of money back then, so that’s why she didn’t say anything to the hunter.
“Symbol of the Marble cake unfulfilled promises made to black Americans struggling for equality with whites.” The marble cake is something she likes.
“Her nephew swallowed lye that burned his throat, and the medicine is the only thing that relieves his pain.” The medicine is representing that her grandson will get
