The Red Hunting Cap is a hat that Holden bought for one dollar and he bought it in New York. Holden loves this hat because he believes he looks good in it. The Hat is a sign of Comfort because it makes him positive. Even though this hat is cheap it has an expensive impact on Holden throughout the story, “I put on this hat that i’d bought in New York that morning. In the catcher in the Rye Phoebe is ten years old but at times acts older than she is. But at times she does act her age for example the Carousel ride. Now the Carousel is for little kids but Phoebe still enjoys it.
