This quote of courage once said by Nelson Mandela, is meant to speak to all in a message of wiseness. That message is you have to conquer that fear, to be a brave soul.In the book 90 Miles to Havana by Enrique Flores~Galbis, you will follow Julian through his turbulent journey to fitting-in in the US. From flying into america, to standing up against one mean bully. This book will tell of extreme courage and wholeheartedness.

In the book, Flores-Galbis ‘foreshadows’ a character that would cause the utmost of problems at Julian, the main characters, camp. In this quote from Julian’s own, troubled yet accurate perspective, the fear is real when Caballo approaches with an attitude. “Caballo grabs my arm with his baseball mitt-sized hand, squeezes really hard, then growls. ‘Don’t you ever try that again.’” This demonstrates the steadiness of Julian under fierce pressure from the ¨top dawg¨.

This shows courage because Julian has absolutely no idea where he is going and he has to trust Angelita that he can really make a profit out of crawling through a hole to farm. Julian also has to learn to sneak by Caballo to get there. This would require guts, and not so much of the
