Communism Farm The book animal farm is about a farm of animals that have a revolution against the farmers and begin to run the farm on their own, but is this the only thing the book is about? The book is about more than just animals taking over a farm and running a corrupt government. The book is also about the time period it was written and the way things were run in the world war two era. The book was written by a man named George Orwell, he lived during that time and he had political opinions that he was not allowed outright to say so he put it in a book that was ultimately banned from the public. The book addressed the bad corrupt parts of communism and the way that communism functioned ultimately. The first sign that the book is symbolizing communism is the introduction of the farmer Jones. Jones takes everything that the animals produce and gives them little in return. This is a symbol because in a communist society every factory or any form of labor is owned by the government. I think that jones represents the government as a whole and is not one particular leader during the world war two era. However some of the animals do represent specific communist leaders and or parts of communism. An example of this is right after they overthrow the farm and begin to lead it themselves. The message at the end of the book is kind of like a cry to people to not be fooled into thinking that communism or socialism ever ends in a beneficial way. The pigs ended up right where they had started f5rom. They are the new problem. I think that the big picture is that you should make sure to learn from past mistakes, like the joneses.
