First Symbolic Item
As a young child, Goldy had a hard time in school, and was constantly made fun of. At the end of the long school day she would walk home to her house all alone mad and frustrated. All of them came from or belonged to Goldy's parents and they all symbolize something unique regarding Goldy's personal life. They each have a hidden untold intrinsic worth that only Goldy knows. However, these items all do have a stark difference between them as well. All of these objects held different value to Goldy in different stages of her life. When Goldy was a child, her house lock was worth so much more to her than the neighbors house lock. Now, to Goldy, there is no differentiation between the lock on her front door and any other lock. The lock can be put on someone else's door and still provide the protection and safety that this lock provided on Goldy's house door. In Goldy’s adult life, when she turned eighteen and received the car keys they symbolized freedom. As her adult years went on, the car keys became more of a responsibility and a necessity, and less of a freedom. The picture of Goldy’s grandmother has held serious significance to her throughout her entire life, and increases in value every day. As Goldy's life goes on, her day to day issues and struggles continue to become more complex. Yet, when she takes this treasured item out of her wallet, she somehow musters the strength and courage to continue on her
