This theory is like viewing or explaining the “Seabees” without realizing that they are just a fraction of the Navy. Just because one part of the Navy feels a particular way about “A” doesn’t mean that the Seabees also feel the same way. When someone steps into the Seabee community, they might feel out of whack, dysfunctional, or have no sense of what is going on, vice versa, because they haven’t been in that type of unit before and can find it difficult to become accustomed to this new command. If a Seabee were to do one thing that in normal in the Seabee community other Seabees would understand whereas, many sailors would not even though they are a part of the Navy as a whole. It is important to understand this detachments way of thinking from a symbolic interactionism perspective so that a mission can function properly. Everyone in the Seabee society has pretty much the exact same mindset and frames of thinking as does the whole Navy with a few minor differences, but when someone that has never been in the Seabees comes into this mini organization it can be fairly difficult for them to adapt or understand orders, words, or gestures.
