Plath wrote the quotes, “I was once beautiful, now I am myself,” meaning that maybe for a second she felt attractive than fell back into her own reality. The woman felt abandoned by her husband and realized she no longer had his pity anymore. The depression Sylvia Plath had finally got control over her whole body. Plath chose to write her thoughts instead of discussing them. However, the author did experience many dramatic times in her life, she never chose to talk about her issues. Her poetry expresses many saddened emotions and tells a horrible story of how she lived her life. Plath was always masked behind her emotions, and had the thoughts she would never be good enough for this world. Her husband was tired of living in his misery thus causing Plath to begin losing those that she love.
