Syllabus Diagnostic Essay Every school and every class require a syllabus that every student and his or her parents must read and sign. Reading the classroom syllabus is very helpful to the student because the student can bring in an idea of the grading policies, Make Up work and attendance, and the classroom rules. It is also required to read and get signed. Getting your syllabus signed is always a grade in the Gradebook. They can also find out how the teacher teaches and the classroom is run. As well as the parents. Not only but also may they get information on anything the teacher provided onto the syllabus. The student and parent's signature is required always on the back page to show that they have both read over the syllabus. In the syllabus there is information about everything the teacher would like to get through to their student and their parents. Three items I have chosen are grading policies , cell phones, and attendance. HAC (home access center) is a great way for the student and his or her parent to check up on their grades to make sure they are doing well in class and school. Teachers continuously keep this website up to date. According to the syllabus to be eligible for a UC or CSU college you need to pass the course with a C. In other words, if you are absent one day your parents needs to call the office to excuse your absence otherwise it is an unexcused absence. Same goes for tardies. For instance, if you are absent and it is excused you are allowed a make up day for your work. Once you’re given the work you missed you are then given a period of three days to complete your assigned assignments. If you miss a test, quiz, etc. you are responsible to come to the class you missed and attend a session after school to do that test or quiz. Late work is not allowed in this class at
