Management approaches are based on the theory that management success is dependent on interaction of management behaviors and the situations that the business is in. the belief is that the way you manage should be based on the position your company is in. the way that a business is managed should be based on the product you are producing, the amount of staff you have, the technology that is used and the way you prefer to lead the business.

• Advantages of the Behavioral approach would allow Johns employees at his business to work harder as they would have more of a say in the business. It allows for discussion with in a business on all leadership levels. Disadvantages include a poor hierarchal structure with in the business, leading to no power form managers.
• Autocratic leadership styles allow the managers to make all the decisions needed as well as allowing them to order work methods and limit worker knowledge. The autocratic leadership style will also make managers give feedback to employees about there performance, as well as telling them ways to improve. Employees that are lower down in the power hierarchy will also find it harder to make decisions which gives managers more power and stability in the business.
