The SWOT analysis and competitive market analysis are two useful tools health care organizations can utilize to develop effective strategic initiatives that will increase the quality of services they deliver and their profitability. The SWOT-Analysis examines internal capabilities (strengths and weaknesses) and external developments (opportunities and threats) when determining strategic alternatives for organizations (Van Wijngaarden, Scholten, & Van Wijk, 2012). However, competitive market analyses study wide-ranging variables that affect the marketplace such as segmentation, market trends, and competition in order to develop more effective business practices that will help them compete within their economic environments (CSU-Global …show more content…
Thus, in order to bring more highly qualified physicians and support staff into my primary care clinic, my primary care clinic’s human resource professionals must revamp their recruiting and hiring processes to meet the clinic’s strategic alternative to develop effective staffing teams that focuses on delivering high quality, patient centered health care. Suggestions might include making all health care provider positions direct hire positions, so candidates do not have to go through the painstakingly long job advertising process (i.e. 3 to 6 months) most government positions must go through before they can be hired into an open position.
