Strengths
Because Oppenheimer has more than x years operating in the financial field. They have been able to learn how the clients, the market, and the financial technology work. Probably the number of years they have been in business is their main strength because they have been able to gain experience, get recognition, increase their capital base, and create better strategies. These are all strengths that Oppenheimer has acquired through the years.
The first strength would be experience. Oppenheimer has survived the financial crisis that made several could only have learnt from all the years in the business. Experience also means that their clients trust them. So, the more experience, the more clients they could get. Their internal database is loaded with a huge amount of information that helps new executives decide the direction they should take. So, even though the new executives have doubts about taking any decision, they will find guides to deal with it. Oppenheimer made sure to store and digitalized all kinds of information that has been a result of years of experience.

Even though they have branches in Asia, Europe, and Latin America, their operations are concentrated in the US. This is a weakness because concentrating in only one region does not allow the company to generate better returns from countries with emerging economies. Also, concentrating in only one region is risky because if the domestic market’s economy is affected negatively, it will drastically impact the performance of the company.
