Introduction
Georgetown College was established in 1789 by John Carroll as the nation’s first Catholic institution of higher learning. Georgetown College has Religious affiliation with Catholic, Jesuit. Georgetown is the oldest Catholic and Jesuit institute of higher learning in the United States. Georgetown is an important part of the Washington, DC landscape. Georgetown College is devoted to the Jesuit traditions of an assimilated education and of creative research in the liberal arts, including, humanities, fine arts languages, and social sciences.
