Twitter is a social media platform where users can follow: their friends, favorite celebrities, and companies and brands that they are a fan of. Users are able to send and read 140 character messages called “Tweets”. They are also able to post pictures, videos and links to websites from their twitters. Users are allowed to share information constantly and discover what is going on all over the world. Twitter was created by Jack Dorsey, Evan Williams, Noah Glass and Biz Stone and launched on March 21, 2006. As of March 2016, there are an estimated 320 million active users on Twitter. 32% of Twitter users are between the age of 18-29, 29% are between 30-49, 13% are between 50-64 and 6% are over the age of 65. Subscribers are able to take pictures and videos and share them privately, with only friends and people that are allowed to follow you or publicly with anyone that has an Instagram profile. Instagram also allows users to share their post through other social media platforms such as Twitter and Facebook. On the app, you are able to like and comment on other users’ pictures and videos. This social media service was created by Kevin Systrom and Mike Krieger and put in motion October 2010. As of 2016, there are an estimated 500 million users on Instagram. Over half of the users on Instagram are between the ages of 18-29 at 55%, 28% are between 30-49, 11% are between the ages of 50 and 64, with 4% of the subscribers being over 65. The highest percentage of education for Instagram users is some college with 32%. The largest percent of their users make between $50,000 and $74,999 a year, with 30%. In the past few years, the use of Instagram by companies has risen. With millions of users, Instagram has become the perfect opportunity for brands to get quick messages and photos to their target
