Introduction

Sushi King Sdn Bhd was founded in year 1995; the establishment of the brand had brought Malaysia Japanese cuisine to a whole new level, whereby, they started introduces Sushi on Conveyer Belt trend to Malaysian. Back in year 1995, Tan Sri Dato Seri DR Fumihiko Konoshi, a Japanese Business man from Nanao, Japan founded Sushi King. Sushi King begins with the first outlet in Kuala Lumpur. Until today, Sushi King had expanded up to 100 outlets across the country. (Sushi King, n.d.)

We take Sushi King Sdn Bhd Kampar outlet as our target of research. Sushi King Kampar was one of the franchises under Sushi King Sdn Bhd. The outlet was located in Tesco Kampar. For Sushi King Kampar, there are no major competitors as Kampar is still considering as a developing town. But there was new rise of Japanese cuisine after the number of students in University nearby increase. In Bandar Baru area, there are Shunka, Esu Udon House, Shomin Sushi, E-Bento and Niko Niko Onigiri Restaurant.

Sushi King Kampar aiming to target on different groups of market. This can reflect from the designation of the variety of foods Sushi King has. For University students and workers, they have their value set meals at affordable prices; while for families, they have their main menu with different types of Japanese cuisine, whereby they can order a-la-carte to share among the family members. Sushi King also has kids meal section in their menu as well. Therefore, through the designation of Sushi King menu, we able to observe how they fulfill customers’ desire and demand when comes to Japanese cuisine.

Otherwise, the have poster display at the front view of the outlet as well. Most of the time, the poster display will show some promotion that launch by Sushi King Kampar. Starting on July 2016, Sushi King Kampar had launched a new order system through electronic device. Customers can order directly from the iPad on their table instead of keep on waiting for the servants. The order will direct to the kitchen and Sushi Bar, so customers able to enjoy their meals once it was out from the hot pot. For each table, there is standing brochure that shows special promotion for the particular period as well. Sushi King have different seasons of promotion, currently, they are having the Soft Shell Crab promotion, so, for the special menu of that period, it will all features with variety of Soft Shell Crab
