Pyrmont is a thriving suburb located in Sydney’s inner west, 1.3Km from the CBD (330 52’ S , 1510 11’ E). It’s harbour views make it a sought after suburb to live in, as well it’s close proximity to the CBD. Pyrmont is the most densely populated suburb of Sydney with 11,000 people living over 1 square kilometre, with 60% of these residents having harbour access. The public transport in the areas means that people living in the area can travel to all areas of Sydney, via trains, trams, busses, ferries or cars. The easy access to public transport helps people to comment to jobs within the city and other areas of Sydney with out hassle. The entertainment industry is heavily centred in Pyrmont with “the star” casino and theatre, channel ten and nova. The area also has a few restaurants and cafes making it an ideal living location.

The sought after suburb we know today has gone through many dramatic changes from what it started as. It’s potential has helped it grow as a suburb. The renewal of Pyrmont can be seen in; parks, public areas, harbour views, transport, affordable housing and wharf 7. Primary and secondary research can be used to describe and analyse the impact of urban growth and decline in Pyrmont. Primary data such as pictures taken on sight, field sketches, transects and surveys taken by Ravenswood students. Secondary research can consist of websites, photos taken off of google and census
