1. COUNTRY ANALYSIS
The company for my research is Honda Motors Corporation Limited. Although it’s a Japanese automobile manufacturing company it is traded in the US stock market: New York Stock Exchange (NYSE). Hence, I am conducting my country analysis on the USA.
The USA economy is the world’s largest economy in the world having a GDP of $17.4 trillion with a growth rate of 2.4% as of 2014. It contributes 17% to the global GDP (Gross Domestic Product). The US GDP per capita is $54,170 which is the 10 largest in the world which means that the standard of living is one of the highest in the world. Also added to this with the oil prices plummeting the additional expenses of fuel has reduced also generating an increase in their disposable income which is a positive sign for the automobile industry

2. INDUSTRY ANALYSIS
Honda motors is headquartered in Japan with its operations spread worldwide. It is a public listed in the NYSE and TYO and since is commencement in 1948 Honda has become the second largest automobile manufacturer on Japan and eight largest in the world.
The automotive industry is basically an industry having a wide range of businesses which are involved in from the initial stage of designing and developing to manufacturing the end product to marketing and selling of automobiles. It is one of the world most important and largest economic sectors in terms of revenue.

Since 2010, the US automotive industry is the 2nd largest in the world only with China being the largest. With technological advancements and the growing needs and demands of the consumers the number of automobiles in the U.S. has grown exponentially to 684 model in 2012 which has grown from 260 models in 1998 having a growth rate of 163% in the past 14 years. They are aimed at developing forward-thinking technologies in order to meet the current and future needs of the society. Honda is trying to achieve innovation with strategic partnerships in the fieds of robotics, clean energy, mobile IT and advanced materials.
• Robotics (ASIMO): It is one of the world’s most sophisticated humanoid robots in order to make people’s life easier. This robot machine has made Honda launch new technology in fields of task-performing, physical capabilities and intelligence capacity. The few features of this robot are: it can recognize multiple voices, behave according to the intention of people, run forward and backward etc.
• Human mobility: stride management assist and bodyweight support assist are the two technological initiatives to improve human mobility by supporting weak leg muscles or support a person’s body part to reduce load on muscles
