The Bimini Road is located north of the island of Bimini. It was first discovered in 1968 by Joseph Mason Valentine. The road is about nineteen feet below the surface and nearly about half a mile long. Each block is made of limestone, which is a sedimentary beach rock. There are two groups that have different opinions on the Bimini Road. One group believes it is geologically …show more content…
Instead of people believing it is road, people believe it is a wall. The Bimini Wall somehow sunk from its original position. The lines in the blocks of the Bimini Wall was evidence stating that it was a portion of a wall. Scientist tested the blocks and said that the blocks were created somewhere else. Someone created the blocks and brought them over to the island of Bimini. Then they started to build the wall. Many people have questions if the wall was built what was the purpose. One explanation to the Bimini Wall, researchers and scientist say that it was to protect an ancient city from …show more content…
The Arawak used a special word Guanahani. In one of the Arawakan languages, Guanahani means encircling city. Scientist also found anchor stones with rope holes in the blocks. The rope holes show that it was helping the wall stay in place. Scientist also found tool marks in the blocks that other scientist say that there were none there. The tool marks show that it was man made. Researchers also found another slab of blocks underneath giving evidence saying it was a wall. The Bimini Wall has dropped several meters because of erosion. That would explain the sinking of the Bimini Wall.
All those details about the different theories have led for me to believe that it was once an encircling wall to an ancient city. There is evidence saying it was just a geologically forming structure and evidence saying it was man made.
