Financial Performance of ASOS plc year ended as of 2013 & 2014

ASOS plc is a birtish online fashion store aimed at young adults ASOS sells over 850 brands as well as its own range of clothes and accessories they also sell edgy and trending content or known as ‘fast fashion’ to its customers making ASOS plc a popular choice for consumers and the fashion community. ASOS plc sells a selection of roughly 75,000 brands as well as own branded products through an online platform delivering to almost every country in the world.

Profitability

ROCE 2013= 54,455/159,801*100= 34.08% ROCE 2014= 46,646/193,031+1,393*100=23.99%

Return on Capital Employed-This measures a company’s management efficiency that analyses how well a company has used all of its long-term finances including loans to generate operating profit.

These figures indicate that there is a large decrease in the return of capital employed between 2013 and 2014. This is specifically due to a rise in the cost of sales in 2014. Could also be

In 2013 £1.5 in current assets was used to cover every £1 in current liabilities however in 2014 £1.4 in current assets was used to cover every pound in current liabilities this proves that ASOS is financially comfortable judging from the liquidity rates over the past 2
