Located 3 miles from Melbourne’s CBD, Footscray is a neighbourhood of the city, with a variety of multicultural shops in its centre. The town has several Art Deco buildings from the 1930s and an American Romanesque town hall. There is a large park dating back to the Edwardian era with palm trees and ornamental ponds. For foodies, the town is home to a wide variety of restaurants, including Indian, Vietnamese, Indonesian, Italian, Chinese, African and other international cuisines. Art buffs will enjoy the Ruffian Gallery and Footscray Community Arts Centre, while the Dog Theatre and Phoenix Youth Theatre offer regular performances.
