Founded by Max Swisher in 1945, Swisher Mower and Machine Company (SMC) had set the industry standard for adding mechanism into riding mowers. Located in the heart of Warrensburg, Missouri, SMC produced a total of three types of lawn mowers. The most successful of the three mowers was the riding mowers followed by their trail mowers, and last was SMC’s push mower kits. Swisher Mowers was also the first to introduce the “zero turn radius” mowers, which later become known as the “the Ride King”.
